The only thing that is killing skateboarding is people worrying about skateboarding! Who cares what someone else is wearing, or what the skate shop is selling. Just Skate! The skate shops can sell what they want to sell, you are the ones buying the decks. If you like cheap ones great, if not then buy the expensive ones. When I started in the 90’s (for fun) you did it because you wanted to skate. now I skate( for fun) because I wanna skate… The point is screw what anyone thinks or does just GO SKATE!!!

Look I don’t know what is wrong with everybody if you have the opportunity to make more money you would do it in a heart beat every single one of you would and you know it. If your on here whining about boards from china then why don’t you start your own damn company otherwise stop fuckin cryin. All you need to do is be happy it doesn’t matter what you do whether you’re gettin chased by rent-a-cops or just hangin out with some nice threads its whatever if it makes you happy. Don’t judge people wrong cause when your time is up god will judge you the same way. Look I’m really not religious too much, but the first time I heard that it meant something and I don’t know why. Shit, fuck, I’m so friggin board. I got nothing better to do. I could sit here and type all day and just make no friggin sense. Oh and hey I just wasted 10 minutes of your life that you’ll never get back. What do you think about that?

Funny you mention shop decks imported from China. How’s that any different from Dwindle’s Chinese operations where ALL of their decks are made? Almost & Blind? Come on… Speed Demons bearings (China) and Tensor Trucks (China).

Even those crappy “Don’t Do It” Ads from Consolidated whose ads once read “buying ‘x brand’ says ‘I like communism’” when Consolidated gets most of their product from China. D’oh!

Skateboarding companies are killing skateboarding. Rather, the dumbshits that used to skate and now run skateboarding companies are killing skateboarding.

Paul Schmitt has his state-side factory AND one in China also. Now the Black Label boards are made in China too. Even pro models (whereas the Chinese factory was once said to be used for their “price point” decks) are made in China. I just checked a BLS deck at the Vans store. Stamped “made in China.”

How’s that for “profit” for the skate corps?

Heck, even Indy and Thunder gave in and the forged truck baseplates are Chinese made. The only parts that aren’t are the hangers, original baseplates (cast, not forged) and axels/ hardware.

Don’t blame shop owners from following suit and getting from the Chinese. So-called American skate companies have done it for years.
