We have a gargantuan pile of skateboard information on our hands here. It might seem kind of creepy how much information we store, but in reality, pretty much any organized business records all of this information, especially one with a website and a crazy computer geek like me behind it all. We don’t ever sell this info (not like anyone’s buying anyway) or use it for evil. Actually, I’m pretty much the only one who uses it and it’s just to satisfy my childlike curiosity about all things bid’niss in skateboarding.
Every click you make online is logged. Every purchase you make in our Shop is tied to your customer account. Every time you skate here we check you in and log it. And with our inventory system, every single item in our Shop ever bought and sold is logged by company, product type, size, color, and location sold (online or Shop). On top of that, if it’s sold online, we know what city, state, zip code, etc. that every single thing went to.
If you had all this information at your fingertips, what kinds of questions would you ask? One thing I thought of was “What’s the average age of kids that buy certain skate shoes?” I thought I’d share some of the data with you. I wish I could give you more detailed information such as specific quantities sold, but I can’t. I can tell you that the report here spans nearly eight years of history. More nerdy ass data analysis coming up soon. Rob [Skatepark Of Tampa]
