Tony Hawk Skates The Halls Of The White House

We were following the twitter stream of @tonyhawk today and came across this twitpic of Tony doing a manual down the halls of the white house. It appears that Tony was at the White House today for Cnn’s First Fathers event. Apparantly Ashtun Kutcher sent this tweet to Tony which basically called him out to skateboard in the white house.

With the permission of the White House officials, Tony Hawk skated the grand foyer and the nearby Old Executive Office Building. Hawk also sent out a few other tweets from today like “The Prez addressing all of us fathers before we split up to visit DC charities,” and “D Wade & Etan T make me feel short.”

    If I were allowed to skate in the whitehouse, that would be the one time I’d face plant and get in the news for the wrong reasons.

    Tony did a very lame stunt here and he disrespected a lot of people with this. But he seems to be too stupid to realize or acknowledge that. To all the tools who want to defend him, I got some news for you…Tony doesn’t know you, and he doesn’t want to know you. He loves extracting money from your pockets though. The folks who take offense to this are not “haters”. That’s a stupid term usually used in response from people who can’t take criticism. Veterans,for example, who lay their life on the line for the country…I can totally see how they would be offended by some overgrown punk disrespecting like this. Don’t defend Tony. He made a big mistake.

    No Respect, A 40 year old lame father that hasn’t the intellect to understand that sometimes you just hold back. Even if you can sometimes you don’t….

    @ Tom:

    Dude, give me a break…. He was invited to be there and he had PERMISSION from the White House to do what he did….

    Next time, please read an article correctly before commenting as it will save you a fair amount of embarrassment.

    “Tony was at the White House today for Cnn’s First Fathers event. With the permission of the White House officials, Tony Hawk skated the grand foyer and the nearby Old Executive Office Building.”

    Your response is misguided and if you want to be mad at someone be mad at the white House Staffer who allowed it to happen not at Tony..

    Are you a Veteran by chance? I’d give good money that you are based on your comment that veterans would find this offensive and since you find it offensive you must be a War Vet…. Which has about as much to do with my comments as it does yours which is nothing…

  15. Erik says:

    Speaking AS a veteran and a former skater, I’ll say this for the record: there was absolutely NOTHING offensive or disrespectful about what Tony did. Last time I checked, when I put my life at risk, it was for the COUNTRY, not some old building in Washington.

    From what I can tell, the people who have a problem with Obama and Democrats are the ones that are crying the loudest about this.

  16. Joshua says:

    @Tom
    You’re not a veteran, so don’t speak on their behalf. From someone who has fought for his country: I am NOT offeneded by this. Tony Hawk didn’t do it to rebel, and he didn’t grind on anything. If either of those things were the case, there would be something to complain about; BUT it wasn’t like that, so you’re offended for no reason.

  17. Louie Baur says:

    I am a Desert Storm Veteran and think its time to chime in here on this post. I am not offended by the President giving Tony the ok to skate the halls of the White House. Its outside of the box and its not like he just let any random skater do it. I can assure you there was no damage done and this wasn’t intended to come off as a way to disrespect our country, our troops or the white house.

  18. Adam says:

    What’s disrespectful? This isn’t some sacred place like a church or temple or something. He didn’t crap in the front lawn or anything.

  19. Tom says:

    Wow, I don’t believe how people have lost the concept of respect, reverence, and what is appropriate and what is not. I don’t care if he had permission or not. I don’t care if it was not the White House proper. Simple tact would have prevented anyone with a common sense from pulling a cheap adolescent stunt like this. Of course this is no brain-trust on this string so I don’t expect much agreement here. It is obvious that you fools don’t get it. I’m no prude. But I have no respect for people that have no respect for others. That’s right simpletons. You all stepped in it by defending Tony. Here’s a quote for all you dumb-asses that you would be wise to take to heart. “Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt” -Mark Twain

  20. DBRIS says:

    DEAR TOM,
    Tony knows me I have spoken with him on many occasions. He has a very level headed character. Do you think that someone who has no common sense can do the things Tony has done with his career? Compare him to other skaters from the 80’s. He knows his limits and is not afraid to push them. I know that if there was any hesitation on behalf of the White House he would have not have gone through with it. I think your special little quote could apply to you before it is applied to any others. {“Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt” -Mark Twain}

  21. Zima says:

    That isn’t the white house dude. It’s the building next door.
