Pastor Eddie Elguera is the senior pastor at The Rock Church and World Outreach Center in Palm Desert, California. As a former 2-time world champion skateboarder, Pastor Eddie has traveled around the world, preaching the Gospel. With his practical, life giving principles out of the Word of God, and his down to earth approach to Bible teaching he has seen tens of thousands of people come to the Lord. El Gato is Skateboarding. This is one of my favorite Vert Skateboarding parts in the H Street Shackle Me Not Video. I was even able to grab a John Sonner deck for my collection a few years back.

Here is Matt Hensley’s part in the H Street Video Shackle Me Not. Matt Hensley brought a few things to the skateboarding table over the years such as Cargo shorts, Biker Wallets, Mid top skate shoes and a handful of flat ground skateboard tricks such as the 180 no complies on flat ground. Matt Hensley still rides for Black Label Skateboards and is involved in the band Flogging Molly.

H Street Skateboards Shackle Me Not Intro
H-Street’s first feature length skate video changed skateboarding not only with its content but also its form. Shackle Me Not is shot entirely with video cameras when skateboard videos were until then shot with film. Mike Ternasky and Tony Magnusson’s “living room” editing approach changed the rules of skate video production and ushered in an era where “anyone” could make a skate video. The skating is a mixture of vert, pool and street from a then unknown or just-coming-up group of skaters, many of who are now legendary, such as Danny Way, Ron Allen and Matt Hensley.

H Street Skateboards Danny Way

Danny Way is a shown here in this video clip of H Street Hokus Pokus. Danny must have been about 15 or so in this H-Street video clip. He has a huge bag of tricks over the spine here at the Carlsbad Skatepark and then he takes his tricks to the Vert Ramp. Danny Way is my hero and continues to take skateboarding up to the next level.

H-street skateboards, founded in 1986, was the brain child of the late, great visionary Mike Ternansky and current Osiris proprietor Tony Magnusson. H-Street was named after a street in Chula Vista, California. It was on H-Street that several of the original team riders lived, in the “H-Street House”. The original H-Street team consist of Ron Allen, Jeremy Allyn, Dave Andrecht, Mike Carroll, Eddie “El Gato” Elguera, Richard Ezekiel, Art Godoy, Matt Hensley, Carl Hyndman, Ben Job, Darrin Kimura, Jeff Klindt, Tom Knox, Chris Livingston, Brian Lotti, Tony Magnusson, Ryan Monihan, David Nielsen, Steve Ortega, Jeff Pettite, Jason Richardson, Brennand Schoeffel, John Schultes, Ray Simmonds, John Sonner, Dave Sornson, Aaron Vincent and Danny Way.

H Street made some awesome videos, Shackle Me Not, Hokus Pokus and Summer Tour Video. They have been released on dvd now and H street is making some skateboard decks. Of course most of the original riders are on other teams now but the Tony Magnussen and Ron Allen Decks are available for sale.
