Although I love skateboarding, I can’t believe this made it to the homepage of digg. This is a horrible collection of unusual signs.

  3. Jeff says:

Great post. My friends and I used to spray paint the signs black when we saw them.. Another way of claiming ignorance I suppose. Luckily here in Tokyo, skateboarding isnt so popular so I rarely come across signs or security guards attempting to stop me. The city of Shinagawa is the one exception to this - but theyre all in Japanese, so I can still claim ignorance as a stupid foreigner.

Your grammar sucks and the signs aren’t even that weird. “Hey, this one’s missing a letter! This one’s got arrows under it!” Nothing ironic or funny about these at all. Totally lame.

Check it out, you even left in a second copy of the first caption by mistake! Also, in a lot of European countries a red circle means “no” even without a red slash, so no, it’s not ambiguous unless you’re an American and fairly dumb.

Honestly, these are the best or most unusual you could find? A few signs with letters missing and some others that are just…well…signs?

Perhaps you should give up blogging and go back to working in the supermarket. I don’t think journalism is your forte.

someone should make a book. the stenciled skater holding the rollerskates is one i definitely have not seen. i also like when they put the slash through the skater doing something really cool, as if to say.. “just don’t get all stylee and be doing any tricks around here.”
